Chandigarh, 23rd May – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini participated in the state-level Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti celebrations in Ladwa, Kurukshetra, where he made significant announcements to honor the contributions of this great sage to Indian culture and society. Addressing a large gathering, CM Saini unveiled plans to name a state government institution after Maharishi Kashyap, recognizing his monumental impact on spirituality, knowledge, and human values. In addition, Saini announced a grant of 21 lakh rupees for the expansion of Kashyap Rajput Dharmshalas at religious sites like Kurukshetra and Kapal Mochan.

The Chief Minister also expressed his commitment to further the legacy of Maharishi Kashyap by naming a chowk in Ladwa after the sage, emphasizing his enduring influence on Indian society. “Maharishi Kashyap’s visionary works, including the Kasyapa Smriti and Kashyapa Samhita, were instrumental in shaping Indian culture. His life serves as a beacon of knowledge and moral values,” said Saini, praising the sage for his contributions to humanity. He stressed that Maharishi Kashyap’s teachings continue to inspire generations to come, guiding individuals towards truth, spirituality, and social progress.

The Chief Minister further assured the people of Ladwa that land would be made available for establishing a Kashyap Rajput Dharmshala in the region, with feasibility checks for land allocation in Ladwa, Kurukshetra, and Indri. Saini pledged to prioritize the community’s needs, and he directed the relevant departments to fast-track the fulfillment of these demands.

In his address, Saini also touched upon the rich history of the Kashyap society, which has been an integral part of India’s ancient culture. He highlighted the role of the Kashyap community during key historical events, including their contribution during the Ramayana era with the powerful ruler Nishad and their involvement in the Indian freedom struggle. The Chief Minister acknowledged the community’s invaluable contributions to the nation, both in the past and present.

Saini also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, especially in handling the recent Operation Sindoor, which demonstrated India’s military prowess and strategic capabilities. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the Indian Armed Forces have taken decisive action, delivering a strong message to the world that India will not tolerate any threat to its sovereignty. Operation Sindoor showed that India will use all means to protect its citizens and national interests,” Saini said, referring to the success of the operation that targeted terrorist hubs and their supporters.

The CM went on to highlight that under the Modi government, the country is set to achieve new heights, with a focus on development, cultural strength, and global influence. He encouraged the Kashyap community to continue their role in shaping India’s future, particularly in the context of the government’s vision for a prosperous nation by 2047.

Additionally, the Chief Minister spoke about the state’s welfare initiatives, underlining the government’s commitment to improving the lives of marginalized communities through schemes like the Sant-Mahapurush Samman Vichar Prasar Yojana. He emphasized that Haryana’s government is focused on ensuring the upliftment of the most disadvantaged segments of society, citing the introduction of reservation for backward class students in educational institutions and enhanced income limits for creamy layer categories.

Hailing the Kashyap community’s role in the state’s progress, Saini assured that his government remains committed to fulfilling all promises made in the election manifesto, with 19 promises already implemented and 90 more on the way.

In his speech, Ramkumar Kashyap, MLA from the area, also recognized the illustrious history of the Kashyap society, including their historical figures such as King Nishad from the Ramayana and the martyr Himmat Singh Kashyap, one of the Five Beloved Ones of Guru Gobind Singh. He thanked the Chief Minister for attending the event and pledged continued support for the community’s demands.

Haryana’s Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi also praised the state’s policies for the betterment of all citizens, particularly the marginalized. He highlighted that the state’s policies reflect the core principles of Maharishi Kashyap’s teachings—compassion, justice, and equality.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including former minister Subhash Sudha, BJP District President Tejinder Goldy, and other community leaders and dignitaries, who joined in celebrating Maharishi Kashyap’s contributions and the state’s commitment to social and cultural progress.
