Haryana Energy Minister, Anil Vij, has suspended Junior Engineer (JE) Sanjay Kumar of the Electricity Corporation for negligence in his duties. The JE failed to replace a faulty transformer in Chandpura village of Ambala Cantonment despite receiving complaints 15 days prior.

The villagers had approached the Energy Minister, expressing their frustration with the JE’s indecisive attitude and the prolonged power outage due to the faulty transformer. Taking strict cognizance of the matter, Minister Vij ordered the JE’s suspension with immediate effect.

Strict Directives Issued

Minister Vij had previously instructed electricity corporation officials to restore power supply by replacing or repairing faulty transformers within one hour in urban areas and within two hours in rural areas. The suspension of the JE serves as a stern reminder to officials to adhere to these directives.

Action Taken

Following the minister’s intervention, the faulty transformer in Chandpura village has been replaced, restoring power supply to the affected area. The swift action demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensuring efficient public services and holding officials accountable for their performance.
