On the second day of Haryana Assembly’s monsoon session, the Nayab Saini government presented its supplementary budget in the House. The day’s proceedings, which started at 2 pm, were marked by vibrant debates during the question hour, zero hour, and especially the attention motions submitted by members on various issues. Prominently, legislators Arjun Chautala and Aditya Devilal raised alarms over severe waterlogging and resultant crop damages in Rohtak, Bhiwani, and Hisar districts. Their attention motion demanded proactive government relief for affected farmers along with long-term solutions for urban flooding.

Congress MLAs Maman Khan, Mohammad Ilyas, Aftab Ahmed, and Balram Dangi supported these motions, voicing concerns about inadequate government response to natural calamities. Additionally, independent MLA Shishpal Keharwala brought up allegations of irregularities and disparities in the state’s Common Eligibility Test (CET), seeking a transparent probe. The assembly’s day-long sitting emphasized both urgent local issues and broader policy gaps, with Opposition and treasury benches engaging in robust exchanges.
The session will continue till August 27, with several important bills and Opposition motions awaiting discussion.
