Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana is aggressively promoting a business-friendly environment aimed at boosting the state’s contribution to India’s growing startup ecosystem. As per recent government statements, the state now hosts more than 9,100 recognised startups, making it among the top states in the country for entrepreneurship and innovation.

The state has announced the creation of a dedicated Department of the Future, focused on emerging sectors including AI, robotics, biotechnology, and deep tech. Additionally, AI research hubs are being developed in Gurugram and Panchkula. A separate MSME department has also been set up to streamline support for micro, small and medium enterprises, and an online facility has been launched for entrepreneurs to file business memoranda easily.

The government claims that over the past 11 years, more than 12.20 lakh MSMEs have been established in Haryana, generating direct and indirect employment for over 49 lakh people. This growth underscores the state’s shift from traditional agrarian economy toward diversified industry and tech-driven sectors.

Officials say the broader aim is to position Haryana as a major contributor to India’s ambition of becoming a global economic powerhouse by 2047. By combining state-of-the-art infrastructure, regulatory reforms, incentives for startups and investment in innovation, Haryana aims to become a national model for balanced economic and industrial growth.
