IFS Officer Juhi Jalota Assumes Charge as Deputy Passport Officer and Head of Regional Passport Office Chandigarh

Indian Foreign Service officer Juhi Jalota (2018 batch) has formally taken charge as the Deputy Passport Officer and Head of the Regional Passport Office Chandigarh, marking a new phase in the administration of passport services in the region.

She has succeeded Priyanka Mehtani (2015 batch) in the role. In her new assignment, Juhi Jalota will oversee and manage passport-related services across Chandigarh, along with designated areas of Punjab and Haryana that fall under the jurisdiction of the Chandigarh Regional Passport Office.

An experienced diplomat, Juhi Jalota brings with her a strong international and administrative background. She has previously served at Indian missions in Madrid, Spain, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she handled key diplomatic and administrative responsibilities. In addition, she has worked in various capacities at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, gaining extensive experience in policy, governance, and foreign service operations.

Her appointment is expected to strengthen the efficiency, transparency, and delivery of passport services in the region, ensuring smoother coordination between citizens and the passport administration system under the Ministry of External Affairs framework.
