Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Chhath Puja is associated with Haryana. According to one belief, the Chhath festival originated during the Mahabharata period, and was first worshipped by the great and generous Karna, son of Surya, in Karnal, Karna’s hometown, located 35 kilometers from here. The special influence of Surya Puja is still visible there today.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini was addressing the state-level Chhath Puja festival at Purushottampura Bagh in Brahmasarovar on Monday. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini formally inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp. The Purvanchal Sabha honored Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini with a memento.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said in Purvanchal language , ” Heartiest greetings to all of you on the occasion of Chhath Puja. May the blessings of Chhath Maiya be upon you all and fill your lives with happiness.” He added , ” Worshiping Chhath Maiya on this holy land of Brahmasarovar is an unparalleled experience. The faith and devotion shown here touches the heart. This festival is a bridge of Indian culture , connecting every region of the country with the thread of faith.”
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that today when Chhath Maiya is being hailed on the holy banks of Brahmasarovar, the glory of this festival has increased manifold. It seems as if the radiance of Sun God and the blessings of Chhathi Maiya have descended into the waters of this Brahmasarovar. He said that here I am paying respect to the great culture that has been brought from Bihar , Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Chhath festival is the bridge of Indian culture in this culture. In this, fasting mothers and sisters observe fast for four days with austerity , restraint and devotion. Salute to such brave mothers and sisters.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that worshipping the Sun demonstrates the deep connection our culture and faith have with nature. Chhath Puja highlights the importance of sunlight in our lives. Everyone worships the rising sun , but you can worship the sun in all its forms. Worshiping the setting sun is also remarkable. This sends the message that we should maintain equanimity through life’s ups and downs.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that it is a matter of great joy that a bathing ghat has been constructed in front of the Surya Narayan Temple in Karnal on the Western Yamuna Canal at a cost of ₹4.48 crore . Another ghat has also been constructed opposite this ghat on the other side of the canal under the Smart City project. Ghats have also been constructed in Panipat, Sonipat, and Panchkula, where large numbers of women worship during Chhath. A ghat is also soon to be built in Kaithal.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Chhath festival can be called a perfect example of ” Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat .” Originally celebrated in Purvanchal, this festival has now crossed the boundaries of various states and is celebrated across the country. The hardworking and diligent brothers and sisters of Purvanchal are today contributing to the economy of various states through their hard work. Wherever you went , Chhath festival also reached there, and the priests of Sanatan culture there also started celebrating Chhath festival with devotion and faith. That is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Chhath festival a national festival. He said that the brothers of Purvanchal have made a significant contribution to the development of Haryana through their hard work. With your hard work and skill, you have maintained the pace of industries and also helped the fields to flourish.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that recognizing the potential of women, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made provision to reserve 33 percent of seats in the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly for women. Under the Prime Minister’s guidance, the government, believing in ” Shrameva Jayate ,” has launched numerous schemes for the safety, dignity, and prosperity of women over the past 11 years .
