On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini gifted two major development projects to the residents of Panchkula. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of the grand Atal Chowk and Atal Park in the Mata Mansa Devi Complex located in Sector-1 of Panchkula.
The twin projects will involve a total expenditure of approximately ₹16 crore. The Atal Chowk is set to be constructed on the route connecting the Mata Mansa Devi Complex to the Sukhna Lake, and will serve as a significant urban landmark. The chowk will span a total diameter of 40 feet. To enhance its aesthetic appeal and create a prominent visual feature, the chowk will be adorned with water fountains and high-quality lighting systems. At its center, a majestic lotus flower made of Dholpur stone will be installed. The construction of Atal Chowk alone will cost around ₹46.50 lakh.
Simultaneously, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for Atal Park, which will be developed across 2.25 acres of land. Designed as a scenic and culturally rich tourist destination, Atal Park will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹15 crore. The park is expected to be completed within a period of nine months. A towering metallic statue of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be installed at the heart of the park, serving as the focal point of the site.
Adding to its uniqueness and educational value, the park will house 13 specially curated themed gardens. These will include the Wildlife Garden, Fragrance Garden, Ayurvedic Garden, Cultural Garden, Sculpture Garden, and Science Garden, among others. Each garden is aimed at offering a blend of ecological, medicinal, artistic, and educational experiences to visitors of all age groups.
The project reflects the government’s commitment to urban beautification, cultural preservation, and tourism development in Panchkula. Atal Park is expected to emerge as a vital green lung and a prominent landmark in the region, providing recreational and knowledge-based engagement to both locals and tourists.
Prominent dignitaries who graced the event included Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, BJP State President Mohan Lal Kaushik, Panchkula Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Gyan Chand Gupta, former MLA Latika Sharma, and Director General of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, K.M. Pandurang, along with other senior departmental officials.
