In a historic tribute to the legacy of ‘Hind Di Chadar’, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Haryana government has announced that it will organize a grand state-level event in Kurukshetra on November 25, 2025, to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the revered Sikh Guru. The announcement was made by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini during a high-level meeting of the state-level committee constituted for the event, which includes representatives from Sikh organizations, saints, and religious institutions.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the occasion will not only pay homage to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji but also serve as a profound reminder of his unparalleled sacrifice for the protection of religion and humanity. The program aims to inspire future generations by bringing Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s teachings and legacy to the forefront of public discourse.
To expand public participation and inclusivity, the Chief Minister launched a dedicated Facebook page, inviting citizens from Haryana and across the globe to share suggestions and ideas for the upcoming event. A special documentary based on the life and teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was also released during the meeting.
Highlighting the scale of the celebration, CM Saini shared that four major processions (Shobha Yatras) will originate from different corners of the state and culminate in Kurukshetra. The first will begin in Dabwali and travel through Fatehabad and Kaithal. The second will start from Lohgarh and proceed via Yamunanagar. The third will begin in Faridabad and pass through Gurgaon and Panipat. The fourth will originate from Kalka, covering Panchkula and Ambala. These processions will help take the Guru’s message across a wide geographical area and generate awareness ahead of the main event.
In the lead-up to the main program, the state will witness a month-long series of cultural and educational events dedicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. These will include seminars, quizzes, painting and essay competitions, symposiums, and blood donation drives in schools and colleges across Haryana.
Stressing the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the occasion, CM Saini announced that special committees including Sikh scholars, religious leaders, and administrative officials will oversee all preparations in accordance with Guru Maryada (code of conduct).
Sardar Jagdish Singh Jhinda, President of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for organizing the event at the state level and assured full cooperation from Sikh institutions in ensuring the success of this historic celebration.
The state government has reiterated its commitment to preserving and promoting the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the Sikh community, aiming to educate and empower younger generations through such meaningful initiatives.
