Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday presented a strong political and developmental vision positioning Haryana as a central pillar in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Developed India by 2047” mission, asserting that the state will play a decisive role in shaping the country’s economic future.

Addressing a programme in New Delhi, the Chief Minister said Haryana is not only aligned with the national vision but is actively transforming governance, infrastructure and investment ecosystems to make that vision a reality. He stated that new schemes are continuously being designed and implemented to strengthen the state’s economic foundations and attract long-term development.

CM Saini underlined Haryana’s growing stature as one of India’s most investor-friendly states. He highlighted that the government has announced the construction of 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs), with work already progressing rapidly on six, while the remaining four are scheduled for completion in the near future. He said Haryana’s top ranking in GST collections, high-quality road infrastructure, and seamless connectivity to Delhi Airport, Chandigarh Airport and Hisar Airport have made the state a natural hub for investors and industries.

He added that Haryana’s infrastructure allows travel across the state in just three-and-a-half to four hours, making logistics efficient and cost-effective. According to him, this structural strength is a major reason why investors are increasingly choosing Haryana as their preferred destination, reinforcing the state’s role in India’s broader economic transformation.

Reflecting on Haryana’s historical journey, CM Saini said that when the state was formed in 1966 after separation from Punjab, there were widespread doubts about its future. However, Haryana not only overcame those doubts but established a powerful national identity. He noted that today, a significant share of India’s armed forces comes from Haryana, the state leads the country in sporting excellence, and it has become a national leader in automobile manufacturing. He also stated that Haryana hosts hundreds of major corporate entities and is preparing to launch a new industrial policy aimed at attracting global investors and expanding industrial capacity.

The Chief Minister emphasized that industrial infrastructure in Haryana is being developed with long-term planning, keeping the next 50 years in mind. He pointed to the near completion of the Gannaur fruit market and plans to develop large-scale trading hubs inspired by Khari Baoli’s dry fruit market, marble markets and Amritsar’s Majeed Market model within Haryana. He said traders from other regions have already shown interest in relocating or expanding into these upcoming markets.

CM Saini also stressed Haryana’s focus on sustainable development, particularly natural farming and environmental protection. He highlighted the significant reduction in stubble burning incidents, stating that the state has achieved nearly 95 percent control through policy, awareness and farmer participation. He added that the judiciary has also acknowledged Haryana’s model of stubble management as a national example.

Drawing a political contrast, the Chief Minister said that while previous governments had decades in power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed the country in just over a decade by setting clear goals and delivering measurable outcomes. He credited the Prime Minister’s leadership for positioning India among the world’s top economic powers and setting the roadmap for a developed India.

On the economic front, CM Saini welcomed the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement, calling it a strategic opportunity for Haryana’s industries and exporters. He said discussions with the Haryana European Trade Association have already taken place, and valuable suggestions from industry stakeholders will be incorporated into the upcoming state budget.

He also announced focused planning for Gurugram’s long-term infrastructure, including drainage systems for low-lying areas and a comprehensive drinking water strategy designed to meet the city’s needs for the next five decades.

Senior officials including Dr. Amit Agarwal, Commissioner and Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Yash Garg, Director General, Sunil Sharma, CCI of HSIDC, and other senior officers were present at the event.

The address reflected a clear political narrative positioning Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as a leader shaping Haryana into a long-term economic powerhouse, with the state projected not just as a participant but as a driver in India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.
