Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Nayab Singh Saini, announced that the state is all set to witness a historic celebration of the 11th International Yoga Day on June 21. The state-level program will be held at Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra, where over 1 lakh people are expected to participate in a massive yoga session led by Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev.

The Chief Minister emphasized that yoga is an ancient Indian practice that has been passed down through generations and is a key to achieving physical and mental well-being. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047 can be achieved by incorporating yoga into our daily lives. “Yoga is not just a physical exercise, but a way of life that can bring about a positive change in individuals and society as a whole.

Massive Participation Expected

The state-level program at Brahma Sarovar will be divided into 64 sectors in the Brahma Sarovar area and 37 sectors in the Mela Ground, with each sector accommodating 1,000 participants. The event will feature 31 LED screens to connect all participants with the yoga sessions. The Chief Minister also informed that a portal has been created for citizens to register for the yoga program, and over 20 lakh people have already registered.

Yoga for a Healthy and Developed Haryana

The Chief Minister appealed to the people of Haryana to participate in the state-level program at Brahma Sarovar and make it a grand success. He emphasized that yoga is a gift from our sages and saints and can play a significant role in making Haryana a healthy and developed state. “Let us all adopt yoga as a way of life and make Haryana a role model for the rest of the country,” he added.



International Significance

The 11th International Yoga Day will be celebrated with great enthusiasm across the world, with the theme “One Earth, One Health.” The Chief Minister highlighted that this theme emphasizes the importance of yoga in maintaining the health of our planet and its inhabitants.
