In a politically significant address at the grain market of Tauru in the Sohna Assembly constituency, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini underlined his government’s commitment to accelerated regional development, welfare expansion, and long-term vision planning, positioning the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government as a stable and performance-driven administration in its third consecutive term in the state.
Addressing a large public gathering at the Sohna-Tauru Development Rally, the Chief Minister described the Tauru region, nestled in the Aravalli hills, as a land known for its hardworking and self-respecting people. He invoked the historical legacy of Mewat, recalling its contribution to the First War of Independence in 1857 and the broader freedom struggle, stating that the sacrifices of its people are etched in golden letters in India’s history. By linking local pride with national history, Saini reinforced the BJP’s narrative of cultural continuity and regional empowerment.
Extending greetings on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, he said the festival offers an opportunity for introspection and spiritual renewal, drawing inspiration from Lord Shiva’s life philosophy. He expressed hope that the festival would bring health, peace, courage, and wisdom to citizens, symbolically aligning governance with moral strength and resilience.
The rally also served as a platform for announcing and inaugurating development works worth ₹47.36 crore. Of these, 11 projects worth ₹21.77 crore were inaugurated, while five new projects amounting to ₹25.58 crore were laid for foundation. These projects span infrastructure, public utilities, and administrative modernization, reinforcing the government’s emphasis on grassroots development in both urban and rural Haryana.
Chief Minister Saini asserted that the massive public turnout reflected deep trust in the BJP government’s policies and intent. He credited this trust for enabling the party to secure a third consecutive term in Haryana. He assured residents that no stone would be left unturned in accelerating development in the Sohna region.
Highlighting data-driven governance, Saini noted that during the past 11 years, 62 Chief Minister announcements were made for the Sohna Assembly segment, of which 49 have been completed and 13 are in progress. He stated that ₹1,515 crore has been spent on development works in the constituency over the past decade, compared to ₹222 crore during the previous Congress government’s ten-year tenure. Between 2014 and 2024, the Public Works Department alone spent ₹285 crore on development works in Sohna, with an additional ₹5.70 crore spent since 2024. Projects worth ₹407 crore are currently in the pipeline.
Among major projects, the construction of a Sub-Divisional Complex in Sohna, with an administrative approval of approximately ₹41 crore, is progressing rapidly. The complex aims to centralize administrative services under one roof, enhancing efficiency and citizen access. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, ₹12.10 crore has been sanctioned for special repairs of three rural roads. Additionally, in Tauru block, underground drinking water reservoirs and pipeline connectivity have been completed in 54 villages at a cost of ₹40 crore.
Referring to the BJP’s 2024 Sankalp Patra, Saini emphasized that his government delivers on promises. Of the 217 commitments made in the manifesto, 60 have been fulfilled within one year, while work is underway on 157 others. He also announced that the Haryana Budget Session will commence on February 20, adding that the upcoming budget has been prepared after extensive consultations with stakeholders to make it a “people’s budget.”
Aligning state development with national priorities, Saini reiterated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is progressing through its “Amrit Kaal” phase, with a target to become a developed nation by 2047. Inspired by this national roadmap, the Haryana government has prepared the Haryana Vision Document 2047, unveiled in Panchkula by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The document outlines 387 long-term and 359 short-term pathways, offering a structured and measurable roadmap to transform Haryana into a developed state.
Taking aim at the opposition, Saini accused previous governments of misleading people, particularly on pension issues. He claimed that during earlier regimes, pensions were delayed for months, whereas his government has increased pensions by ₹2,200 over the past 11 years and ensured timely disbursement. He reassured senior citizens that there is no cause for concern regarding social security benefits.
Highlighting women-centric initiatives, he spoke about the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, under which ₹2,100 financial assistance is being provided. So far, over 9.22 lakh women beneficiaries have received ₹634 crore. Around 14.70 lakh families are receiving gas cylinders at ₹500 per month to ease household expenses. In housing, 1.56 lakh homes have been delivered under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, while thousands of plots have been distributed under state urban and rural housing schemes.
On agriculture, Saini stated that procurement of all 24 crops at Minimum Support Price is being ensured. Payments worth ₹1.64 lakh crore have been transferred to the accounts of 12 lakh farmers. Compensation and crop insurance payouts over the past 11 years amount to ₹15,448 crore. He contrasted this with the previous Congress government, alleging that it left ₹269 crore in compensation dues unpaid.
The Chief Minister also underscored reforms such as paperless property registration, abolition of archaic levies dating back to colonial times, and increasing the creamy layer income limit for backward classes from ₹6 lakh to ₹8 lakh. In healthcare, under the Ayushman Bharat–Chirayu Yojana, nearly 26 lakh patients have received free treatment worth ₹4,126 crore. Free dialysis services are available in government hospitals and medical colleges, and new Day Care Cancer Centres have been inaugurated across districts to expand access to treatment.
On employment, Saini stressed transparency and merit-based recruitment. Over the past year, 36,000 youths have been given government jobs without “parchi-kharchi” (bribery or favoritism), taking the total to 1.8 lakh jobs in 11 years. Through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam, 1.18 lakh youths have secured employment stability. The Haryana Overseas Employment Cell has facilitated foreign job offers to 390 youths, with 7,500 construction vacancies currently live on the portal.
Concluding his address, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called upon citizens to collectively resolve to make Haryana the first fully developed state in India, reinforcing his government’s twin pillars of welfare expansion and long-term structural reform. As the BJP consolidates its third term in Haryana, the Sohna-Tauru rally signals an effort to blend infrastructure development, social welfare, and political messaging into a unified narrative of continuity, credibility, and Vision 2047-driven growth.
