In a tragic incident, a first-year cadet of the National Defence Academy (NDA), the country’s premier tri-service training institute, was found dead in his hostel room early Friday morning. The deceased has been identified as Cadet Antriksh Kumar Singh.

According to police sources the cadet’s course-mates discovered him hanging in his room during the early hours of the day and immediately informed the authorities. The police were soon called to the scene, and the body was later sent for post-mortem examination.

No suicide note was recovered from the location, but initial investigation suggests it could be a case of suicide, a senior police officer stated. The reason behind the cadet’s extreme step remains unknown at this stage.

The NDA administration has expressed deep grief over the incident and confirmed that a Court of Inquiry has been ordered to determine the circumstances leading to the death.

The National Defence Academy, located near Khadakwasla in Pune, trains cadets of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, making it one of the most respected military institutions in the country.
