As political winds shift in Punjab, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has voiced a growing sentiment among the people of the state—hope for transformative progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at a public felicitation event in Zirakpur, where he was honored by representatives from various Punjabi organizations, Saini delivered a powerful message that connected the aspirations of Punjab’s citizens with the developmental successes seen in neighboring Haryana under a BJP-led government.

In his address, Saini highlighted how Prime Minister Modi has, over the past decade, elevated India’s global stature and reshaped the national growth narrative. He remarked that Punjab, having witnessed the failure of multiple political dispensations, is now increasingly placing its trust in the leadership that has driven significant changes across India. Drawing attention to the enthusiasm of Punjabi youth, Saini shared that young people across the state are eager to walk shoulder to shoulder with Modi’s vision for a stronger India.

Reflecting on his own journey, Saini recalled the commitment he made upon taking oath as Chief Minister of Haryana on March 12, 2024. At the time, he had promised 50,000 government jobs. Though the model code of conduct halted appointments within 56 days, Saini fulfilled his pledge by facilitating the joining of 25,000 young professionals even before formally assuming charge. It was, he said, a demonstration of promise-backed governance—a model he believes Punjab is ready to embrace.

Emphasizing the BJP’s farmer-centric policies, Saini assured that Punjab’s agricultural community would be prioritized under a future BJP government. He pointed out that Haryana procures all crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP) and offers direct compensation in the event of crop damage—an approach he said should be mirrored in Punjab. He criticized the current Punjab administration for not adopting such pro-farmer policies, suggesting that under BJP leadership, similar reforms would be implemented to honor and empower farmers.

Saini also touched on key welfare initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu schemes, through which nearly 20 lakh Haryana residents have accessed healthcare services. The state has borne costs amounting to ₹6,500 crore, he said, and ensured even senior citizens above 70 years benefit from the scheme. He added that such models demonstrate how inclusive welfare and fiscal responsibility can coexist when guided by a determined political will.

In comparing Haryana’s accelerated development trajectory with Punjab’s current state, Saini noted that despite being smaller in size, Haryana has surged ahead due to efficient governance. He stated that when the BJP forms a government in Punjab, similar high-speed development will follow. The Chief Minister credited Haryana’s success to the implementation of well-planned, people-oriented policies—ones that he believes are urgently needed in Punjab.

Turning to the broader national picture, Saini lauded Prime Minister Modi’s strategic vision, noting that India is rapidly advancing towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy by 2027. He underscored that the BJP’s national mission includes not just economic growth but also fulfilling the 2047 vision of a developed India. Under Modi’s leadership, India has already emerged as the fifth-largest global economy—a feat achieved through sustained reform and targeted action.

In closing, Saini appealed to the people of Punjab to align themselves with the national development agenda by supporting the BJP in the upcoming elections. He argued that a vote for the BJP is a vote for farmers, the poor, and every citizen hoping for a better tomorrow. With Prime Minister Modi at the helm, he asserted, Punjab can look forward to a future filled with opportunity, prosperity, and inclusive growth.

Prominent leaders in attendance included former Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and former Punjab MP Preneet Kaur, adding political gravitas to the event and signaling growing regional momentum in favor of the BJP.
