Reinforcing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a *Viksit Bharat 2047*, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday said that “Vocal for Local” is the strongest pathway to achieving the goal of a fully developed India. He emphasised that the dream of a self-reliant nation can only be realised by prioritising Indian-made products and strengthening local industries at every level.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the launch of the **‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Rail Passenger-Contact Campaign’**, held at the Chandigarh Railway Station. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu were also present, underscoring the national importance of the initiative.
As part of the campaign, CM Saini personally visited railway platforms, interacted with passengers, and distributed informative leaflets on the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He said the campaign aims to take Prime Minister Modi’s message of self-reliance and local empowerment directly to the people, ensuring widespread participation in the mission for a developed India by 2047.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said that India’s remarkable economic transformation reflects the impact of policies rooted in self-reliance and indigenous growth. “In 2014, India was the world’s 12th–13th largest economy. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has risen to become the fourth largest economic power,” he said.
Expressing optimism about the country’s future, CM Saini added that sustained promotion of local manufacturing, increased use of domestic products, and collective support for the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission will pave the way for India to become the world’s third-largest economy in the near future.
He noted that the Rail Passenger-Contact Campaign will connect lakhs of citizens across the country, encouraging them to adopt the Vocal for Local philosophy in their daily lives — from essential purchases to long-term investments — further accelerating India’s journey toward becoming a fully developed nation by 2047.
