Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN) has taken a significant step towards environmental conservation by organizing a plantation drive in Shimla. The event was held at Chamiyana Road, near Surala Village, as part of the nationwide #Plant4Mother (#एक_पेड़_मां_के_नाम) campaign launched by the Prime Minister.

SJVN’s Chairman and Managing Director, Bhupender Gupta, led the initiative, which aims to plant 4,500 saplings by December 2025. On the first day of the drive, 300 saplings of various species, including Oak, Rhododendron, and apricot, were planted. Directors Ajay Kumar Sharma and Sipan Kumar Garg inaugurated the drive by planting saplings and encouraged employees to actively participate in such endeavors.

The plantation drive saw enthusiastic participation from Heads of Departments, senior officials, and employees of SJVN’s Corporate Head Office in Shimla.
