Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development, stating that unprecedented work has been carried out across key sectors including infrastructure, irrigation, health, animal husbandry, sports, environmental protection and urban amenities. Addressing a public gathering in Khairi village of Ladwa Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister said the pace and scale of development in the region clearly reflect the government’s pro-people policies and intentions.

Describing Ladwa as a priority constituency, Saini said the government’s sole objective is to ensure holistic development of the region and improve the quality of life of every citizen. “The development work undertaken in Ladwa over the past years stands as proof of our dedication to public welfare. Our aim is to make Ladwa a model constituency and a leader in development,” he said.

During the public meeting, the Chief Minister announced financial assistance of ₹2.1 million for various development works in Khairi village. He also declared ₹7 million for the installation of a drinking water pipeline and ₹1.5 million for the construction of a village drainage system. Responding to a demand letter submitted by the village sarpanch, Saini assured that the remaining demands would be forwarded to the concerned departments and addressed in a time-bound manner.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister said the state government is providing LPG cylinders to poor women at a subsidised rate of ₹500 per month, benefiting around 1.47 million families across Haryana. He also noted that free dialysis facilities have been introduced for kidney patients in all government hospitals and medical colleges in the state.

On employment, Saini said that 36,000 youths were provided government jobs in the past year without any recommendations or fees. He added that a total of 1.8 lakh jobs have been given over the last 11 years, reflecting the government’s focus on transparent and merit-based recruitment.

The Chief Minister also presented a comparative account of development expenditure, stating that ₹807 crore has been spent on development works in the Ladwa Assembly constituency over the last 11 years, compared to ₹310 crore during the previous 10-year tenure of the Congress government.

Detailing constituency-specific welfare schemes, Saini said that under the Har Ghar Grihini Yojana, 9,240 families in Ladwa are receiving LPG cylinders at ₹500. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 364 houses have already been constructed, while 249 more are currently under construction. He added that 1.59 lakh residents have been found eligible under the Ayushman Chirayu Yojana, with 1.2 lakh beneficiaries already issued Chirayu cards.

The Chief Minister further highlighted major infrastructure and institutional projects in the region. He said that North India’s first National Institute of Design has been established in Umri at a cost of ₹108 crore. In Ladwa town, a sewage treatment plant and sewerage lines were installed at a cost of ₹26 crore. He also mentioned that the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Memorial is being constructed in Umri village at an estimated cost of ₹124 crore, describing it as a historic initiative to promote social harmony, equality and saintly traditions.

In addition, Saini said that a Government Polytechnic building has been constructed in Umri at a cost of ₹14.51 crore, while drinking water pipelines have been laid in 65 villages of the Ladwa Assembly constituency at a cost of ₹11.51 crore.
