In a deeply symbolic and spiritually resonant moment, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini performed a grand aarti at the sacred Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra, reaffirming his government’s commitment to bringing the cultural and spiritual legacy of this ancient land to a global audience. Addressing an international gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that Kurukshetra—known as the “land of dharma” where Lord Krishna delivered the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita—holds a profound place in India’s civilizational identity, and his government is actively working to project this rich heritage across the world.

The occasion was further elevated by the presence of a foreign delegation attending the 36th International Training Program, comprising over 27 representatives from 13 countries. These dignitaries, who had been exploring various parts of Haryana over the past four days, were formally welcomed and honored by Chief Minister Saini, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, and former Minister Subhash Sudha. The guests were presented with traditional angavastras and portraits of Lord Krishna in his cosmic form, capturing the essence of India’s divine storytelling traditions.

Against the serene backdrop of the Brahma Sarovar, the Chief Minister led the devotees in the grand aarti, seeking blessings for peace and prosperity for the people of the state. Speaking to the media after the event, he shared that the visiting delegation had also toured key heritage and institutional landmarks such as the Haryana Legislative Assembly, the Punjab and Haryana High Court, and several prominent cultural and governance centers. Their exposure to the state’s spiritual and administrative framework, he added, would translate into deeper cultural diplomacy as they return home carrying stories of Kurukshetra’s sacred soil.

The Chief Minister noted that such exchanges hold immense potential to elevate Haryana’s standing as a global destination for religious and cultural tourism. The ancient wisdom of the Gita, he said, transcends geography and time, and it is essential that the teachings of this scripture are shared with the wider world. The presence of international delegates at the very site where the Gita was first spoken adds not only gravitas but also a sense of timeless continuity to this spiritual narrative.

On the sidelines of the event, CM Saini also addressed concerns regarding recent storm damage in the state. He confirmed that orders had already been issued two days prior for officials to assess the extent of the damage caused by high winds and to submit urgent reports. He assured that once all data is reviewed, appropriate steps will be taken by the government, including investigating the causes behind any fire incidents reported during the storm.

As a symbolic gesture marking the conclusion of the visit, Upendra Singhal, honorary secretary of the Kurukshetra Development Board, presented a commemorative souvenir to the guests, capturing the memory of their spiritual engagement at one of India’s most revered pilgrim sites.

Through this carefully orchestrated event blending tradition, diplomacy, and development, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has positioned Kurukshetra not just as a site of historical reverence but as a living, breathing epicenter of India’s cultural soft power. His vision to spread the teachings of the Gita and promote Kurukshetra as a global beacon of peace and wisdom stands aligned with India’s broader efforts to reclaim and reintroduce its ancient spiritual narrative on the world stage.
