Reiterating the state government’s commitment to transforming Gurugram into a seamless and congestion-free urban center, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday said that providing a permanent solution to the city’s traffic woes remains a top priority. The Chief Minister was presiding over the 15th meeting of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), where key infrastructure and development projects were reviewed.
During the meeting, CM Saini stressed that work on major city projects must move forward in a time-bound and well-planned manner to ensure that citizens benefit from improved urban facilities. “The government is fully committed to making Gurugram a smooth and jam-free city. We are working with a strategic approach to resolve its traffic challenges permanently,” he said.
The meeting also witnessed participation of several senior leadership figures, including Union Minister of State and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh, Haryana Industry & Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, and Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar — who joined the session through video conferencing from the PWD Rest House.
MLA Mukesh Sharma (Gurugram), Bimla Chaudhary (Pataudi), Tejpal Tanwar (Sohna), GMDA Principal Advisor D.S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary of Town & Country Planning and Urban Estate A.K. Singh, and Principal Secretary of the Energy Department Shyamal Mishra were present at the venue.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the status of decisions taken during the previous GMDA meeting and directed officials to accelerate the pace of development work. He emphasized that infrastructure upgrades must be implemented efficiently to enhance ease of living and support Gurugram’s rapidly growing population and economic activity.
With Gurugram serving as a major business and technology hub, the government’s focus remains on strengthening public transport, improving road networks, and eliminating bottlenecks across critical traffic junctions. The ongoing infrastructure push is expected to significantly enhance mobility, connectivity, and overall urban planning in the region.
The reviewed projects and directives are anticipated to give further momentum to Gurugram’s transformation into a modern, well-connected, and future-ready metropolitan city.
